The Preventing and Responding to Violence in the Workplace course describes the scope of workplace violence in Health Care, defines and provides examples of workplace violence behavior, compares risk assessment tools and prevention programs, and provides strategies for improving personal safety, implementing de-escalation techniques, and reporting incidents.
The course is divided into 5 sections, with a quiz following each section. The sections are divided as follows: 1) Background and Scope, 2) Assessing Challenging Behaviors, 3) De-escalation Strategies, 4) Personal Safety, and 5) Incident Reporting.
A total of 1.50 Nursing CE credits have been awarded for this activity by the Michigan Public Health Institute - Continuing Education Solutions (MPHI CES 202864374).

100% of participants will pass a post test after each section with a cumulative quiz score of 84% or higher demonstrating knowledge of appropriate communication techniques and behavior.
